Final Project # 1
“Fix You”
By: Coldplay

NEVER. GIVE. UP.
-Chandler Meyer
When you're up against a trouble,
     Meet it squarely, face to face
When you feel like you can’t go on any more
Find a WAY!
Those shinning lights in your life will guide you home
They are what is right, and what will bring the right
Listen to you heart and for heaven sakes..
JUST. KEEP. GOING.
When the going gets tough… It has to get easier
So look for your light and NEVER
Give up

SEE IT THROUGH
by Edgar Guest
Lift your chin and set your shoulders,
      Plant your feet and take a brace.
When it's vain to try to dodge it,
      Do the best that you can do;
You may fail, but you may conquer,
      See it through!

Black may be the clouds about you
     And your future may seem grim,
But don't let your nerve desert you;
     Keep yourself in fighting trim.
If the worst is bound to happen,
     Spite of all that you can do,
Running from it will not save you,
     See it through!

Even hope may seem but futile,
   When with troubles you're beset,
But remember you are facing
    Just what other men have met.
You may fail, but fall still fighting;
    Don't give up, whate'er you do;
Eyes front, head high to the finish.
    See it through!
Both of these pieces relate very well to each other.  The overall theme is perseverance which is clearly stated in both.

Short Story- The Day I Saw Her

It was a normal tuesday afternoon: Woke up at 6AM, took Buster for a walk on the beach, went to work(at the coffee shop), and made my way to the local laundry mat to wash my clothes. As soon as I stepped in that evening I noticed a girl I had never seen before, she was blond, very skinny, wearing baggy sweats, with her hair whipped up on her head. "She must be new" I thought.
I went on doing my thing, loading and folding the wash and waiting for it to be completed. This girl, for some reason, kept grabbing my attention for no particular reason. She kept giving me this look like I should recognize her, and was upset I didn't. I stood up to finish loading my last load and sat back down on the bench, the girl had moved and was now sitting awkwardly close to me. She sat there for over ten minutes and said nothing. Not a single word, and I didn't say anything as well. When my the buzzer rang to signal the end of my load I finished and was on my way. Giving the 'new' girl a slight head nod on my way out.
The next morning at work the girl from the laundry mat stopped by. When she got to the counter I noticed she was dressed up in professional work attire with her hair down and she was breathtaking. When she got to the counter she said "Oh... we meet again, Its good to see you." after this she took her coffee and sat down at a table near by. I continued on with my business for about fifteen minutes and then decided it was time. I approached the table and casually asked her how old she was. She replied "Im 24 almost 25" this was my exact age. I told her that I noticed her at the laundry mat the previous night, but it had been a long day and I wasn't in the mood to socialize. She laughed, and said she felt the same way. I asked her if she would be willing to go to dinner with me later that night, she replied by saying "thank you for the offer, but I'm actually engaged." The odds were not in my favor that day.

Autobiography- School

RECESS

It was just a normal Monday at school, I didnt want to go, but mom said I was "sick" way to much. I think she was starting to understand my ways.. looks like it was time for me to come up with a new plam of escape. But thats besides the point. We were out a recess, doing what we normally do, playing four-sqaure. All the sudden, I saw him, Garret. I have had a crush on Garret since the moment I met him the first day of "big girl" school, almost three years ago. All I want to do is kiss him, but I dont know if he wants that to kiss me back. That day while playing four-square I decided that I couldnt wait any longer. I was going to kiss Garret Feather today...or else.

Autobiography- Birthday

The Day We All Dread

It was my birthday... again. I swear it feels like my last birthday was a week ago. Every year I dread this day, I dread getting one day, or one year older, and I dread celebrating my birthday without my beloved husband. Oh how I wish he could be here with me to endure these hard times. Getting older sucks, all it means to me is a bigger number, a bigger butt, and more rinkles. The only thing I live for is my grandchildren, they are the light of my life, and exactly what I need to endure the painful birthdays year after year. Why cant we all just pick the perfect age that we want to be and stay that way forever? Ohhhhh how I wish.

Spruce Grey- Short Story

I rolled over and looked up, I had no idea where I was, who I was, or what had happened. After laying, watching the cars speed by for atleast an hour I stood up. Everything was differnet now, I couldnt remember anything. Everything around me was a spruce grey, quiet in my head, but utterly busy in real life. The one thing that I could remember was my talent. I had the ability to read peoples minds. I walked, slowly, and then started to run into the city. Wondering if people could see me or if I was really dead inside this body. I sat on a bench near an ice-cream stand in the park. There I listened; I listened to everything people were thinking, trying to find my place in this un-known world. How long had I been gone? What city did I come from? Did I have a family, people who loved me? After a few days of wandering around the city, listening to the thoughts. The twilight dusk that I had been in was now beginning to clear up. Im not sure if I will ever really know who I am.. or was... but I will do my best to figure it out every single day for the rest of my life.

6- Word Story

We had to choose six random words, arrange them in the order of our choice, and write a short story about them.

My words were:

Missing 6 Year old Girl By the River

I remember that day like it was yesterday, I was eight years old heading to my favorite spot in the forest. When I arrived I played there for a atleast 30 minutes running around in my princess costume, playing with my imaginary friends. Then... it happened, the unexpected meeting. Two men, big, dressed in black arrived. I ran, they ran, they finally... caught up to me. They grabbed me and took me with them.

This... was only the beginning.
